Objective: To observe the CT angiographic characteristics(64-MSCTA) or Digital subtraction angiography (DSA) of cerebral artery stenosis in ischemic cerebrovascular diseases patients complicated with type-2 diabetes mellitus with duration of more than 5-years and to explore the relationship between cerebral artery stenosis and duration of diabetes. Methods: A retrospective analysiswas performed on the Computed tomographic angiography (64-MSCTA) or digital subtraction angiography (DSA) characteristics of 222 ischemic cerebrovascular diseases patients. Patients were divided into three groups: two research groups were patients with diabetes duration of 5-10 years and more than 10 years, respectively. Compare group was nondiabetic patients. Results: The rate of angiostegnosis in the diabetes duration of 5-10 years and>10 years groups (78.58%,79.1% ) were higher than that in the nondiabetic (58.82% ()P<0.05). The proportion of patients with multiple arteries stenosis in diabetes duration of 5-10years and>10years groups (72.7%,83.0%) was higher than that in nondiabetic group(54.00%)(P<0.05),the differences between two diabetes groups were not statistical significances(P>0.05). The rates of multiple arteries stenosis which exist in both intracranial and extracranial vessels in diabetes were both 50.9% in two diabetes groups, was both higher than that in nondiabetic group(24.00%)(P<0.05)respectively,while the rates exist in both anterior and posterior circulation in diabetes duration of 5-10 years and>10 years groups (50.9%,58.5%) was also both higher than that in nondiabetic group(30.00%)(P<0.05)respectively, The differences above between two diabetes groups were not statistical significances(P>0.05). PCA was invasived more in diabetes patients duration of >5-years than nondiabetic(P<0.05). BA was invasived more in diabetes patients duration of >10years than nondiabetic(P<0.05).The most common arteries invasived in turns are ICA,VA,MCA,PCA in 5-10years group, VA,ICA,PCA,MCA in >10 years group, and VA,ICA,MCA,CCA in nondiabetic group, respectively. Moderate and severe arteries stenosis were most common in diabetes duration of 5-10years and>10 years groups(62.8%,64.5%), while slight and arteries moderate stenosis were common in nondiabetic group(64.6%). These differences in the there groups were not statistical significances(P>0.05). There are not apparent association between increase in degree of angiostegnosis and prolongation of diabetes duration(P>0.05).Conclusions:1. The angiostegnosis character of diabetes duration of >5-years was multiartery stenosis; PCA and BA were invasived more in than nondiabetic. The most common arteries invasived in turns are ICA,VA,MCA,PCA in 5-10years group, and VA,ICA,PCA,MCA in >10 years group, respectively. Moderate and severe arteries stenosis were most common in diabetes duration of >5-years. 2.The relationship between cerebral artery stenosis and duration of diabetes deserves further exploration.
