Objective: To investigate the expression and significance of c-jun and brg1 in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) and to analyse the relationgship of these alterations with clinical pathology factors. By studying the correlation of c-jun and brg1 in LSCC, to provide reference frame for the early diagnosis of LSCC.Methods: To test the expression of c-jun and brg1 in 45 cases LSCC,10 cases peficancerous tissues and 10 cases polyps of the vocal cord by streptavidin-peroxidase(s-p) immunohistochemical methods. To compare the expression of c-jun/brg1 in LSCC, peficancerous tissue and polyps of the vocal cord. To observe the relationship of c-jun and brg1 with the clinical pathology factors, in-cluding age, sex, pathological grading, clinical stage, lymph node me-tastasis and primary site of LSCC.Results:l. The expression of c-jun in LSCC was obviously higher than peficancerous tissue and polyps of the vocal cord. There was significant differences between LSCC and peficancerous tissue, or between LSCC and polyps of the vocal cord(p<0.05). There was no relationship between peficancerous tissue and polyps of the vocal cord (p>0.05).The expression of c-jun in LSCC, there was no relationship with age, sex and primary site (p>0.05). But there was significant differences with pathological grading, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis (p<0.05). The positive expression of c-jun in well, moderate and poorly differentiated LSCC were 89.5%, 80.0%, 54.5%, respectively. The expression of c-jun in well, moderation and poorly was gradually declined. There was no relationship between well and moderation differentiated, or between moderation and poorly differentiated (p>0.05). There was significant diffierences between well and poorly differentiated (p<0.05).2. The expression of brg1 in peficancerous tissue was obviously higher than LSCC and polyps of the vocal cord. There was significant differences between LSCC and peficancerous tissue, or between peficancerous tissue and polyps of the vocal cord(p<0.05). There was no relationship between LSCC and polyps of the vocal cord (p>0.05).The expression of brg1 in LSCC, there was no relationship with age, sex and primary site (p>0.05). But there was significant differences with pathological grading, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis(p<0.05). The positive expression of brg1 in well, moderate and poorly differentiated LSCC were 73.7%, 40.0%, 18.2%, respectively. The expression of brg1 in well, moderation and poorly was gradually declined. There was no relationship between moderation and poorly differentiated (p>0.05). There was significant differences between well and moderation differentiated, or between well and poorly differentiated (p<0.05).3. In LSCC, there was no correlation between the expression of c-jun and brg1 (r=0.5874, p>0.05) .Conclusion:1,The expression of c-jun in LSCC was obviously higher than peficancerous tissue and polyps of the vocal cord. But the expression of brg1 in peficancerous tissue was obviously higher than LSCC and polyps of the vocal cord. These indicated that there was closely relation between the expressions of c-jun and brg1 and the occurrence and development of LSCC.2,The expressions of c-jun and brg1 in LSCC, there was significant differences with pathological grading, clinical stage and lymph node metastasis. But there was no relationship with age, sex and primary site. The expression of c-jun promote the occurrence and development of LSCC,but brg1 was the opposite. The expressions of c-jun and brg1 maybe imply grade malignancy of LSCC.3,In LSCC, there was no correlation between the expression of c-jun and brg1.These indicated that more factors influented the expressions of c-jun and brg1 in LSCC.
