Objective:To investigate the health status of and prevalence rate of hypertension. By measuring mental workers from JSS questionnaire, we are intending to explore occupational stress level of mental workers, and to deal with the relationship between hypertension and occupational stress. Methods:According to random cluster sampling method, to sample 2036 intellectual workers who have taked part in physical examination in medical center and cardiovascular disease clinic of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang University and Autonomous Region People's Hospital from 2008 to 2009 as the investigation object, investigation contents including measuring height, weight, blood pressure, biochemical, abdominal ultrasound, the calculating body mass index (BMI) and so on, to select 333 mental workers with hypertension as Job stress survey (JSS) questionnaire group, while the 1703 normal mental workers through stratified random sampling methods are divided into four age groups in which 340 people as a control group of occupational stress measuring questionnaire investigation, this paper analyzes occupational stress fators that caused to the hypertension of mental workers in Urumqi.Result:The number with hypertension is 333 of the surveyed 2036,16.30% prevalence for all, including the prevalence of hypertension of male mental workers is 19.43%, female 12.62%, male is significantly higher than female (P<0.01), the prevalence of hypertension Han mental workers for 14.56%, Uighurs, the prevalence of mental workers for 18.72%, difference is statistically significant(P<0.05), the work tension index and working pressure index of hypertension group, is significantly higher than control group, the difference is statistically significant (P<0.05). Risk factors of systolic pressure including age, aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotran sferase (ALT), serum urea (BUN), total cholesterol (CHOL), creatinine (CRE), high density lipoprotein (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein (LDL-C), work tension index, job pressure index impact of 10 index.Diastolic pressure risk factors include age, total cholesterol (CHOL), glucose (GLU), high-density lipoprotein (HDL-C), low density lipoprotein (LDL), work tension index, job pressure index impact of 7 index. Multivariate linear regression analysis indicate that, occupational stress, work stress and hypertension is positively correlated, r=0.947 (P<0.01). Conclusion:Different gender, nationality, age have certain effect for the happen of hypertension of Urumqi mental workers, occupational stress makes the prevalence of hypertension increased of mental workers, occupational stress levels of hypertension sicken group are statistically significant compared with normal group (P< 0.05).
