ObjectiveTo observe the clinical effect of atomization inhales of terbutaline and budesonide on interstitial pneumonia in infants.MethodsSixty eight infants in the ward of center of respiratory were divided into 3 groups (the observation group , the control group 1 and the control group 2) randomly during Mar.to Dec.2010. The three groups were received the same basic treatment (including anti-infection,maintaining water and electrolyte acid-base balance, antipyretic, expectorants, etc . At the same time, terbutaline and budesonide were used in the observation group, salbutamol and budesonide were given in the control group 1, budesonide was applied to the control group 2 alone. Three groups of patients underwent pulmonary function twice, the persistence time of clinical symptoms, signs were compared after the treatment, and the pulmonary function of three groups were also compared before and after treatment. Results1.There were significant differences in clinical symptoms(wheeze, cough) and sign(wheezing rales) between observation group , the control group 1 and the control group 2(P<0.05),except the disappearance time of pulmonary rales(P>0.05). The observation group and the control group 1 had no difference between them, but they were better than the control group 2.2. The pulmonary function of the observation group and the control group 1 got improved compared with the control group2: respiratory frequency(RR) dropped and tidal volume per kilogram(TV/kg) of the three groups improved obviously after treatment(P<0.05), but the peak expiratory flow(PEF) and 75% of the expiratory flow had no significant difference(P>0.05). The time to peak ratio (TPTEF /TE), peak volume ratio (VPEF /VE), 50% expiratory flow (TEF50), 25% expiratory flow (TEF25) of observation group and control group 1 improved obviously(P<0.05), the values of TEF50 or TEF25 in observation group were recovered more apparently (P <0.001), but the data of control group 2 had no significant difference before and after treatment.ConclusionsThe clinical effect of atomization inhaled terbutaline and budesonide is confirmed , and the effect is same to inhaling salbutamol and budesonide in treating infant interstitial pneumonia, but the observation group is better than control group 1 on improvement of pulmonary function especially in small airways. Also it is better than using budesonide inhalation only and worth to use on clinic widely.
