A Correlation Study Of XRCC3 And HOGG1 To The Effect Of Radiotherapy And Prognosis In Esophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Objective:To analyze the relationship between the protein expressions of X-ray repair cross-complementing group 3, human 8-oxoguanine DNA glycosylase 1 and the effect of radiotherapy and prognosis in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Methods:The protein expression of XRCC3 and hOGG1 in 171 samples of ESCC tissues were examined using SP immunohistochemical staining and were analyzed according to the clinic pathologic features and follow-up data. Results:XRCC3 protein were expressed in the nucleus of tumor cells in ESCC. And hOGGl protein were expressed in the nucleus and mitochondria of tumor cells in ESCC. The positive expression rate of XRCC3 protein in the drunk group and non-drunk group were 73.5% and 54.2%, respectively (P=0.046). The positive expression rate of hOGG1 protein in the group of length just and more than 5 cm and the group of length less than 5 cm a were 81.7% and 66.7%, respectively (P= 0.022). The positive expression rate of hOGG1 protein in the middle and end of esophageal group and the of esophageal group were 79.5% and 64.8%, respectively (P= 0.040). The positive expression rate of hOGGl protein in the earlier primary tumor and the latter were 82.5% and 64.9%, respectively (P=0.009). The median survival period and 95 confidence interval in the group of positive expression of XRCC3 and the group of negative expression of XRCC3 were 54 months 49 months, respectively(P=0.683).The median survival period and 95 confidence interval in the group of positive expression of hOGG1 and the group of negative expression of hOGGl were 54 months,and 49 months, respectively(P=0.780). In multivariate analysis, the result of radiotherapy and the tumor length were closely correlated with over all survival(P=0.005,0.045). Conclusion:The protein expression of XRCC3 and hOGG1 may contribute to the risk of developing ESCC. The expression of hOGG1 is closely correlated with the lymphnode metastasis and effect of radiotherapy.There are none relationship belong XRCC3,hOGG1 and prognosis of ESCC.
