Purpose of the study: This study gives a systematical evaluation to the Gan red soup in the treatment of Behcet's disease from both theoretical and clinical aspects through the integration of the theories of Chinese medicine and modern medicine. Research Methodology: This research adopts the 1989 international diagnostic criteria of Behcet's disease. 110 diagnosed BD patients participate in this research and they are sorted into two groups randomly, namely the treatment group and the comparison group. The treatment group applies the Chinese Herb medicine and the comparison group applies strong XX. The duration of the treatment is 3 months. Before & after treatment, the differences of the patients are observed in terms of their symptom, physical sign, and laboratory examination. The results are then analyzed.Research Result: the 50 patients in treatment group are interviewed after the treatment. 6 (12.5%) are cured, 10 (20%) are productive effective, 20 (40%) are effective, 2 (4%) are invalid. Overall effective percentage is 96%. By comparison, among the 48 patience in comparison group, 6 (12.5%) are cured, 11 (22.92%) are productive effective, 10 (20.83) are effective, 19 (39.58%) are invalid. Overall effective percentage is 60.42%. There is obvious statistical difference between the two groups (p<0.01). In conclusion, the Gan red soup has obvious effect in the treatment of Behcet's disease and also exhibits a little sad effect, therefore, it's worth being populated.
