Objectives To study the current situation of protective awareness of the workers exposed to dust in five coal mines A, B, C, D and E which are subordinated to Hebei, Guizhou, Shanxi, Shandong and Beijing respectively Implement dangerous high dust occupation to Hebei A ore and endangering interfering with that relevance health promotes, makes an valuation on the result, and analyses the main problems in the process of healthy education to profect the health of workers exposed to dust, and provide references to improve dust damage consciousness of the coal miners. Provide a scientific basis about conditions suitable for the presentation of our country control strategy against the dust to.Object and Methods1 Object select a representative sample of five coal mining enterprises from Guizhou, Hebei, Shanxi, Shandong Province and Beijing, and A sample of 956 workers were selected from the 5 coal mines with randomingation, then the awareness of the high-risk dust hazards was analyzed. Select 322 people from Mine A of Hebei Province to make intervention investigation.2 Methods A face-to-face survey was carried out with a unified self-made questionnaire by 8 investigators who had trained before the survey to meet the standard of the study and to control the possible bias.Questionnaire includes the experirnce of work, the history of work, and the knowledge, beliefs and behavior to the possible damage of dust exposure. The health promotion and education was carried out after the survey among 322 workers chosen from coal mine A,by watch the video film,by a course of lecture, and by read the pamphlet. The effect of the health education was also evaluated after the intervention.3 A data-base was established with Epidata and the data was analyzed with the software SPSS13.0.Results1 Investigation shows that the awareness of the health damage among workers for exposure to dust is high, but they do not know relevant policies exactly.2 The utilization rate of protective equipment (dust masks) is 91.58%, but the rate is only 43.37% for each job. The reasons are "no need" "too much trouble" and "not comfortable."3 In the understanding of what hazards because of the esposure to dust, the term "pneumoconiosis" accounted for 88.96%, but other diseases caused by the exposure to dust are poorly understood.4 After intervention after the intervention characteristics, investigate the activities of the more common effects of interventions, and easy to dust staff.5 After the intervention the, knowledge of the hazards of because of the exposure to dust was improved (P <0.05). Knowledge of related laws and policies to control high-risk hazards was also improved (P <0.05).6 After the intervention,self-protection behavior was not changed obviously.7 After the multi-factor analysis before and after the intervention, education and intervention or not is related to the knowledge of whether the prevention of dust hazards of dust–exposed workers; age, intervention, and whether or not workers are known to control dust dust-related hazards related laws; intervention and dust workers should know how to conduct a body search of the Occupational Health; whether knowledge of dust hazards and protective equipment related to the use.Conclusions1 Dust–exposed workers have the awareness of the risk of dust exposure, but they lack understanding of legal policy of the country to control dust-related hazards.2 Characteristic interventions are useful to improve the awareness of for dust control and related deseascs dust.3 General intervention can increase the proportion of knowledge for dust in exposeure, but the change of self-protection behavior is limited.4 Dust hazard interventions related knowledge workers is to promote knowledge of dust dust against the main factors related to knowledge.Advice1 To strengthen the propaganda of protection of knowledge of occupational health, as well as enhance awareness of business owners not only to short-term benefits of the enterprise, but also social problems brought about immeasurable.2 To improve and increase the number of corresponding laws, regulations and norms and so on, the appropriate personnel to broad the knowledge of occupational hazards assessment requirements.3 To exclude the impact of the use of protective equipment factors, and ensure complete dust protection of workers.
