Object:To detect the expression of Ang-2 (Angiopoietin-2, Ang-2) and VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor,VEGF) in lesions of psoriasis vulgaris. To observe their level of expression between the group of psoriasis vulgaris and normal skin. To observe the correlation of their level of expression in lesions of psoriasis vulgaris. To investigate the role of Ang-2 and VEGF in genesis of psoriasis vulgaris. Methods:Use immunohistochemical technique to detect the expression of Ang-2 and VEGF in 30 psoriasis patients and 30 normal skins. Analysis was done by determining IOD(integral optical density,IOD) of dyeing.Results:①VEGF was mainly located in the cytoplasm of keratinocytes and the vascular endothelial cells of dermal papilla.②There was expression of VEGF in group of psoriasis vulgaris, while there was little expression in normal skin tissue. There was significant difference between psoriasis vulgaris and normal skin tissue (P<0.001).③Ang-2 was mainly located in the cytoplasm and(or) plasma membrane of vascular endothelial cells of dermal papilla.④There was expression of Ang-2 in group of psoriasis vulgaris, while there was little expression in normal skin tissue. There was significant difference between psoriasis vulgaris and normal skin tissue (P<0.001).⑤There was a positive correlation between the expression of Ang-2 and VEGF in psoriasis vulgaris(r=0.45,P<0.05).Conclusion:①VEGF was overexpressed in lesions of psoriasis vulgaris and it was little expressed in normal skin. The overexpression of VEGF was closely correlated with the angiogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris.②Ang-2 was overexpressed in lesions of psoriasis vulgaris and it was little expressed in normal skin. The overexpression of Ang-2 was closely correlated with the angiogenesis of psoriasis vulgaris.③The expression of Ang-2 was positively correlated with expression of VEGF in lesions of psoriasis vulgaris. They may have a synergistic effect which can promote angiogenesis in psoriasis vulgaris. They played an important role in genesis and development of psoriasis vulgaris.
