The Cichorium intybus L. flavonoids is a new developing natural plant flavone prepration.It has many fine functions,such as anti-free radical, oxidation resistanceand protecting vasular system etc. Nowadays, it has received broad attention from all over the world.In order to review roundly the characters of Cichorium intybus L. flavonoids the next systematical work had been done in the paper:taking the phyllostachys Cichorium intybus L.as raw material, studying on the extraction, purification, antimicrobial activity of flavonoids in the Cichorium intybus L.The main reseach contents and results are as follows:In this test, it was proved that flavonoid existed in Cichorium intybus L. every nutritious organ with qualitative analysis experiment. The optimum extraction condition of total flavonoids in Cichorium intybus L. was investigated by single factor selecting experiment and orthogonal experiment.The results as follows: methanol concentration was 50%,solid—liquid ratio was 1:40,refluxing temperature was 70℃and extracting duration was 2 hours. In this test Cichorium intybus L. every nutritious organ was investigated by spectrometric method with rutin as standard material. The results showed that: in roots have the highest .concentration of stems , leafs and flowers take the second place. The method is simple,convenient and can be applied to extract Cichorium intybus L .in large scale.By reviewing for several resins, the separation and purification effect of AB-8 resinwas best.After enriched by AB-8 resin, the total flavonoids content was enhancedgreatly, from 9.80%to 28.94%, increased 2.95 times.Two column chromatographies were used to separate flavonoids in the purified product and two compounds (1,2).was isolated.It(1) was identified a flavanone by analysises of melting point,characteristic qualitative reactions, TLC and spectrographic data from 1H-NMR,13C-NMR,IR。Compounds (2) ware analysises until now. 6 species of common food contaminating microorganisms were used as tested microorganism, and the antimicrobial activity of the extracts of Cichorium intybus L every nutritious organ, the purified product and compounds (1) were studied by using the Beating holes method. The minimal inhibitory concentrations (MIC) were determined in this study.The results showed that the extracts could obviously restrain the growth of both bacteria and fungus at different digree.The purified product also has obvious restrain the growth of both bacteria and fungus at different digree,but the compounds 1 not have antimierobial properties.
