Objective:To know the status of the workforces in township heath centre in China, research on the configuration by forecasting the demand and requirement, find the gap between the situation and the standard, provide information for making policy.Methods:Collect the statas from China Health Statistic and China Rural Statistic from 2002 to 2009, China Health Service Survey in 1993,1998,2003,2008, the survey and analysis report of rural health human resources in China in 2006, the Finacial report of China Health from 2005 to 2007, New Rural Cooperative Medical Research Centre, Ministry of Health.Descripte and analysis the ststus of the workforces in the Towship Heath Centre in China by SPSS 16.0, forecast the demand and requirement of the workforces by Excel 2003. Invite 15 experts who major in managing towship heath centre,8 secretaries of county health bureau to forcast the workforces demand and discuss the training rules deeply and provide some advice.Results:1. The total number is 107.5 million workers in the Towship Heath Centre until the end of 2008.They are most between 25 to 54 years old. Their diplomas are low which most are sector or colledge degree. Their certificate titles are low which most are Shi-level and Division-level.2. From 2005 to 2008,The number younger then 25 is decrease from 14.3% to 6.1%, The number older then 55 increases from 4.6% to 5.6%; the number of Bachelor degree increases from 1.6% to 2.2%, the constitute of middle certificate title increases only by 0.5%, the waiting-workers increase by 2.2%. From 2002 to 2008, the doctors-nurse rate increases from 1:0.32 to 1:0.41, which are far away 1:1. 3. Both GDP and the number of the health workers every 1000 rural peploe are increasing,the correlation coefficient r between them is 0.807 (P<0 .05).4. Estimating the demand number of the health workers in township heath centre in China is 111.09 million, the requirement number is 132.72 million in 2008, according to the number of rural total person reported by 2008 China Rural Statistic.The standard location of the total workforces in township heath centre is 1.54 workers every 1000 pepole, and its adjustment value is 1.71 workers ervery 1000 pepole, the Public Health Service location is 0.44 worker every 1000 pepole.Conclusions:1.The workforces in township heath centre are not enough,the degree,certificate tite are low, the doctor-nurse rate is low.2.The Configuration standards of township heath centre human resources is 1.54-1.84 workers every 1000 people. The demand is 111.1 million, the requirement number is 132.72 million in 2008.3.The total number in 2008 of township heath centre human resources less then the demand by 3.6 million, less then the requirement by 25.2 million. The demand is far away lower then the requirement, the potential demand is high.
