| AIM: To investigate the expression pattern of cyclin-dependent kinase 1 (CDK1) in human esophageal squamous cell carcinoma(ESCC) and to annalyze its relationship with clinicopathologic parameters.METHODS The protein expression of CDK1 in human esophageal cancer tissues(n=138) and their corresponding normal mucosa were detected immunohistochemical(IHC)by means of tissue microarray(TMA) ,its correlation with clinical characteristics was evaluated and analyzed by univariate analysis were performed by SPSS version 13.0.RESULTS It was found that over-expression of CDK1 in fresh esophageal cancer tissues. The difference was statistically significant between the expression of CDK1 esophageal incancer tissues and their corresponding normal mucosas (P<0.01) Expression of CDK1was statistically different among clinical stages and lymphatic metastasis of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma. (P<0.05).There is no obvious significance between the expression of CDK1 and different histological grades, depth of invasion(P>0.05).CONCLUSION CDK1 is an important molecule in regulation of ESCC. Over-expression of CDK1 was found in ESCC. Over-expression of CDK1 may be one of good marks in showing the proliferative ability of ESCC and determining the clinical stage of ESCC. |
