Objective:To investigate the relation between the glucocorticoid receptor gene N363S polymorphism and bronchial asthma in Han people from some areas of Guizhou province. Methods:30 patients with asthma in acute exacerbation were selected randomly as test group from some areas of Guizhou province. It contained 12 males and 18 females.Mean age were (56.58±19.23) years, (51.44±15.51) years, respectively. At the same time,30 healthy persons(13 males and 17 females) were chosen as control group. Mean age were (55.46±18.04) years, (46.52±16.25) years, respectively. Polymerase chain reaction/Single strand conformation polymorphism (PCR/SSCP) and gene sequence analysis technique were used in our study in order to screen the 357bp area of exon 2 of NR3C1 (nuclear receptor subfamily 3, group C, member 1) in all subjects. Results:The length of PCR product was 357bp according to agarose gel electrophoresis. No aberrance was found in exon 2 codon 363 of glucocortioid receptor gene between the test group and the control group by SSCP. In our study, all genotype of NR3C1 in exon 2 codon 363 were ATT. Conclusion:No N363S polymorphism is found in Han people from some areas of Guizhou province with asthma. It seems that N363S polymorphism does not play an important role in asthma of Han people from some areas of Guizhou province.
