Objective:To observe the clinical effect of chronic pelvic pain syndrome(CPPS) treated by filiform needle acupuncture coordinated withα1 receptor inhibitor, and make a objective evaluation of the effectiveness and security for the treatment in order to explore a economical, safe and reliable way of curing the disease of chronic pelvic pain syndrome.Method:According to the diagnostic criteria of chronic pelvic pain syndrome set by NIH(National Institutes of Health), we selected 90 cases of patients suffering CPPS from the urological department in TCM hospital of Hubei province from 2008.10~2010.2, and then divided them into three groups at random:A,B and C.They were treated respectively like this:Group A was treated with acupuncturing in fixed acupuncture points with filiform needle in combination with Harnal; Group B was only treated with acupuncturing in fixed acupuncture points; Group C was only treated withα1 receptor inhibitor---Harnal.The acpuncture points were as follows:ZhiBian CiLiao PangGuangShu ZhongJi GuanYuan YinLingQuan SanYinJiao TaiChong.α1 receptor inhibitor:HarnalThe course of treatment was one week, and there was a day off in the treatment of filiform needle acupuncture during each course of treatment. All acupoints were acupunctured with filiform needle except ZhiBian and all acupoints needed to stay for 30 minutes.α1 receptor inhibitor---Harnal was given one pill per time, one time per day.Take four curative duration as a treatment period. We were to observe the changes of therapeutic indexes, such as National Institutes of Health-Chronic Prostatitis Symptom Index before and after treatment, the markedly-effective rate, the improvement rate and the total effective rate. Results:After four course of treatment, there were various degree of alleviation among the three groups, and there were no remarkable side reaction arising. The clinical markedly-effective rate of group A,B and C was respectively 53.3%,36.7% and 6.7% The clinical improvement rate was respectively 33.3%,23.3% and 36.7%. The ineffective rate was respectively 13.4%,40.0% and 56.6%. The total effective rate (the clinical markedly-effective rate +the clinical improvement rate) was respectively 86.6%,60.0% and 43.4%. Of these, the clinical markedly-effective rate, improvement rate and total effective rate of group A were apparently higher than group B and C, and there was a signifcant difference in statistics (P<0.05). The clinical markedly-effective rate and total effective rate of group B were apparently higher than group C, and there was also a significant difference (P<0.05).Conclusion: The treatment of acupuncturing in fixed acupuncture points with filiform needle in combination withα1 receptor inhibitor towards the disease of CPPS was a kind of safe and effective method, because the clinical curative effect was obviously better than the separate acupuncturing group andα1 receptor inhibitor group. In the meantime, the method was economical and safe, so it deserved popularity and clinical application.
