Objective To evaluate the sensitivity of chemotherapeutic drugs to human Cerebral Gliomas by MTT method. Methods: In vitro sensitivities of eight chemotherapeutic drugs were determined by modified MTT method in 62 cases of human Cerebral Gliomas. Results: In 62 cases, the sensitivity sequence of those 8 drugs from high to low was Vm-26>BCNU>DDP>VCR>CTX>MTX>5-Fu>ADM. Patient age, sex did not prove to be significantly correlated with the most agent chemosensitivity in vitro by statistics. Pathological grade was correlated with chemosensitivity of the part of agent. Conclusion: The MTT assay is a rapid method of screening antineoplastic agent against gliomas for cytotoxicity. The gilomas cell is more sensitive to Vm-26 in vitro than to BCNU, DDP, VCR, CTX, MTX, 5-Fu, ADM. Evaluation of sensivity of chemotherap -eutic drugs to human gliocytoma by MTT method can be a helpful guidance on clinical chemotherapy and it can raise the effectivene ss of chemotherapy.
