Magnoliae officinalis is a resourceful and widely distributed in China's north-south around over ten provinces as a traditional Chinese medical herb. Magnolol and Honokiol are important functional compositions in Magnoliae officinalis. The many previous researchs on the anti-oxidation function of Magnolol and Honokiol were simply in vitro test. For the anti-diarrhea, researching Magnolol or Honokiol only, had not comparisons between Magnolol and Honokiol. Magnolol and Honokiol are low purity in previous test. Because of that, the anti-oxidation and the anti-diarrhea function of Magnolol and Honokiol were not researched very well. So, systematic study on the the anti-oxidation and the anti-diarrhea effect in vivo with Magnolol and Honokiol high purity as the test material, comparing effect between Magnolol and Honokiol can not only better explain the anti-oxidation and the anti-diarrhea function of Magnolol and Honokiol but also provide scientific basement for development of anti-oxidation and the anti-diarrhea products and makeing high-value use of Magnoliae officinalis resources.In the experiments, put the Magnolol and Honokiol on the mouse, Detect the antioxidant enzymes in mouse liver and plasma, blood biochemistry indexes in mouse plasma, study on gene clone related to antioxidant enzymes in mouse liver, study on mouse water defecate rate and diarrhea index, small intestine motility, the results show:1,On the function of anti-oxidation, Magnolol and Honokiol can significant increase the activity of T-SOD,GSH-Px,CAT and T-AOC. There are many differences and similarities on effect of antioxidant enzymes between Magnolol and Honokiol. Magnolol effect on the activities of CAT and T-AOC more than Honokiol, but Honokiol effect on the activities of GSH-Px more than Magnolol in liveres. The activity of CAT,GSH-Px increases as the Magnolol doses increases, and the activity of CAT increases as the Honokiol doses increases, but the high Honokiol dosage can increases T-AOC in liveres. Magnolol effect on the activities of GSH-Px more than Honokiol, and activities of others antioxidant enzymes were similar between Magnolol and Honokiol in plasma. Magnolol and Honokiol can increase the gene expression of CAT,GSH-Px,Cu/ZnSOD,MnSOD,ECSOD, more influence on CAT and GSH-Px. Magnolol effect on the expression of CAT and ECSOD more than Honokiol, but Honokiol effect on the expression of GSH-Px,Cu/ZnSOD and MnSOD more than Magnolol. It is the same with the effect on antioxidant enzymes activities.2,Different dosage of Magnolol and Honokiol can increase the activity of ALP,LDH and the content of TP,BUN, reduce the content of CHO,HDL,TG, no significant differences on AMM,GLU,P,Ca; It is the same effect between Magnolol and Honokiol, The low and middle dosage of Magnolol and Honokiol more increase the activity of LDH than the high dosage. For the content of CHO and HDL, decrease with the increase in dose. For others blood biochemistry indexes, there are no different effect with different dosage.3,On the function of anti-diarrhea, Different dosage of Magnolol and Honokiol can inhibitionof Castor oil-induced diarrhea, reduce mouse water defecate rate and diarrhea index, inhibit mouse small intestine motility in Sulfate Neostigmine model。...
