PurposeBecause we can easy diagraph the MCV and we easy implement experiment, we adopt the animal experiment and the method of the nerve electricity physiology. By employing a different temperature of RF and the working time after the anatomy of the rat sciatic nerve, we try to observe the before & after change of the sciatic nerve motor conduction velocity during the latency, peak-peak value and the area of the negative phase wave. We can discuss the critical data(RF's temperature and time) which block the nerve conduct.MethodsAfter the anatomy of 70 adult SD rats with bilateral sciatic nerve, we give different RF time at different temperatures such as 30℃,50℃,55℃,60℃,and 70℃. Also for those between 30℃-50℃, we give a group of 60s'RF coagulation time at intervals of 5 degree celsuis. Finally we observe the change of the MCV in various parameters with the analysis of SPSS 13.0 for windows line paired test, One-Way ANOVA and Spearman correlation.Results1) There are significant differences of MCV parameters before and after the different RF different parameter constitution (p<0.05) (except 55℃10s, when).2) There is no relation between MCV and RF time for the group at 30℃and 50℃. 3) Besides, except for the no correlation between the latency and the time at 15s,20s,25s,30s group, and we can't obtain data above 55s in the 55℃, there is significantly positive correlation with latency & time and negative correlation with negative phase wave & time in the remaining groups.4) Moreover, the MCV is positively related to each parameter at different temperature of 60s groups(below 50℃).5) Finally, we can't get the conduction velocity at the 50s of 55℃,10s of 60℃,55s of 55℃,5s of 70℃.Conclusion1) That is certainly "critical temperature" to hinder the MCV. In this research, 50℃-55℃is the "critical temperature".2) Above the "critical temperature", there is significantly positive correlation with latency, peak-peak value, negative phase wave & time. Below the "critical temperature", it has no relation between the time and the MCV. In radio frequency, when curative effect is not accurate, we think that gradual increment time is an opposite safety. Raise the temperature contain certain risk.
