AIM:To study the prevalence rate and risk factors of lower extremity arterial disease in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods: randomly select hundred inpatients with type 2 diabetes of The First Affiliated Hospital , ChongQing Medical University endocrine department,measure their ABI,The research subject were divided into LEAD group(ABI<0.9) and non-LEAD group(0.9≤ABI<1.4),the two groups were compared for age,history of smoking and hypertension,course of diabetes,blood grease,kidney function,HbAlc,urine albumin/ creatinine,Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy prevalence rate.Results:Hundred T2DM patients,in which 25 patients had LEAD,75 patients did not have LEAD.LEAD group showed older age,and they often had longer course of diabetes,smoking history and hypertension, higher levels of HbAlc,TC,TG,LDL,UA,Cre,umAlb/ Cr,DPN%.Conclusion:age,course of diabetes,history of smoking and hypertension,TC,TG,LDL,UA,Cre,umAlb/ Cr,DPN% have relations with LEAD,ABI is an available and efective method for diagnosing LEAD.
