As the representative of Japan's " Third-Generation Writers", Endo Shusaku is also a founder of the Japanese Catholic literature.Endo Shusaku has a clear path for the creation of context, the identity of the Catholic faithful kept him thinking of the East-West religious conflict and division, and then continued on the explosure of the essence of being Catholic truth, and entered into the literary road of practice.In his famous work "Silence", which also brought him "Tanizaki junichiro", Endo Shusaku not only inherited his study of Christianity in Japan, by content, such as East and West has always been the subject of cultural differences, more importantly, in this work he creatively put forward the "Mother of religion" concept. His old theme from the distillation of the new thinking, combining traditional Japanese culture to maternal re-interpretation of a religion to the history of time and space for the next re-define the nature of religious belief."Silence" is the center of this paper and it tries to analyze and conclude religious thought and the influence that the religious thought brought to his works.The structure of the paper begins with the introduction and it studies the aims and methods through analyzing the shape and symbol of characters, studying religious thought and the influence that his religious thought brought to his features of literal creation.The first chapter introduces Endo Shusaku' life and process of his cultural career, summarizes Endo Shusaku's "the difference between western and eastern cultures", "Japanese style of Christianity", "sense of sin and redemption of soul", "fathers' religion and mothers'religion" and "combination of subjects".Chapter two and three exemplify "Silence" and analyze the shape of characters and the symbol of his work with more details.Chapter two analyzes comprises of "Silence" step by step and the position, origin, shaping features of the main character and the meaning of the writer. It also leads to the creative motive that is connected with the weak persons. It also concludes the sense of distance between Christianity and Japanese one god theory and faith destiny. Endo Shusaku created uniquely the mothers'religion, and got it improved in his works. Chapter three studies the huge influence that religious thought brought to Endo Shusaku's works through his work's Christian faces, natural plants, animals and landscapes, description of colors and analysis of symbols. Endo Shusaku provided the mothers' religion uniquely, which affected his works very much, and also helped him to form his own symbolic style of writing and special features of works.At last, comes to the conclusion, Endo Shusaku's religious works have unique Catholic thought, and he sets a solid position in Japanese literature, and contributes a lot to Japanese literature.
