Antonin Dvorak(1842—1904),a composer of late romanticism,together with Smetana,founded Czech national musical school and was regarded the most important Czech composer. His music mainly stemmed from Bohemia. He,who based his creation on the Czech folk music,was also esteemed the most honorable great composer. He created nine symphonies of the most vital importance in his all life,which were the representative work of national musical school of the nineteenth century."Symphony No.9,In E Minor From the New World"was the most successful,valuable work at the peak of his creation. It incarnated the unique charm of the special language——music. The work showed that the composer attached much importance to the style of the symphony and had a good grasp of it. The individuation,at the same time,was contained in the work,which was generally acknowledged the classical work among symphonies.This text analyses and interprets the"Symphony No. 9,In E Minor From the New World"from two aspects:the musical technical creation and cultural interpretation,trying to understand the creation style and work's cultural connotation of Dvorak and determining his abundance and contribution to the musical style of the symphony through deep research into the work.The text is made up of three parts:The first part is the first chapter,that is,the exordium of the text,introducing the reasons why to select this subject and the practical significance,the domestic and international literature review,the researches in related fields and inadequacy,the research methods and purposes,the sources and the technical route,and so on.The second part is the main body of the text,which contains the second, the third,and the fourth chapters. The second chapter introduces the four maturing creation stages,the representative work of each stage and the major factors influencing the creation of Dvorak;The third chapter thoroughly analyses the"Symphony No.9,In E Minor From the New World"and perfectly clears the creation style of the composer;The fourth chapter profoundly analyses the cultural connotation,artistic value and the realistic meaning of the work from the cultural perspective.The third part is the conclusion,summarizing the main achievements of the text.
