Ethical Thinking Into Ecological Consumption

Ecological consumption is a kind of consumption pattern, which means , in the process of consumption ,subjectivity human not only satisfy himself the consumer demand but also not do harm to the harmony of human ,society and nature. Unlike previous consumption way, ecological consumption satisfies people both material needs, ecological needs and spirit demand , physiological demand. The purpose is to make the people have meaningful life. Based on ecological value, ecological consumption ethics not limit people to put a kerb on the consumption, but demand people to reflect ecological value and ecological ethic value in the consumption activities .The article is divided into three parts:The first part mainly studies the non-ecological consumption. After analysing four different kinds of consumption view in food-gathering period, agricultural period, industrial civilization period and information civilization period, this paper illustrates the non-ecological consumption's harm to nature ,society and morality. Then, this article elaborates the forming causes. For instance, non-ecological consumption advocates personal success but denies social justice, advocates to enjoy consumption rights. But rufuses to fulfill consumption obligation, advocates the happiness that consumption bring on but regardless of the consequences that consumption result in. The second part researches on ecological consumption's moral basis. The essence attribute of ecological consumption is moderate consumption, green consumption and civilized consumption. It is the essence attribute that decide ecological consumption has more value such as more benefit for the environmental protection , more boost human beings'free and all-round development, more promote fairness between developed country and developing country or in different communities. Furthermore, for ecological consumption, environmental ethics,economic ethics and consumption ethics provide theoretical moral support. The third part studies ecological consumption's moral principles. Principle of moderation means ecological consumption not only satisfy people's ecological needs but also modest satisfy material needs and spirit demand. Principle of fairness means ecological consumption should consider the fairness between individual and society ,urban and rural areas, even contemporaries and successors. Principle of humane attribution refers that consumption is for human beings'all-round development, for spirited and societal demand,not for face-saving and assuming consumption.
