The Study Of Hohhot's Islamic Culture Since The Implement Of Reform And Opening Up Policy

Hohhot is the central area of the exchange of national minorities in border areas, and it also is the stage of history of the diversity of ethnic and religious cultures. The Hui Nationality is second–largest minority after the Mongol Nationality in Hohhot, the religious attribute of the hui nationality is strikingly remarkable. In consequence, Islam is the core of its cultural system and has a stronger social impact. Therefore, understanding the status of Islamic culture, development and social values can protect stability of ethnic relations in multi–ethnic region ,promote its prosperity and development.In this paper, the spread of Hohhot′s Islamic culture has been simply introduced, and explored the developing approach and recovery strategy of Islamic culture in new historical period whit the cultural background of the reform and opening up, among them"Litter Mosque"phenomenon as a case has been comprehensive analyzed. On this basis, we summed up the characteristics of Hohhot′s Islam. Hohhot′s largest Muslim communities—Hui administrative area is a research area, author made all–round, multi–level research. This can reflects the important position of Islamic culture in the religious life of believers, and also shows that Islamic culture can impact on individuals and society through continuous development. Finally, the paper analyzes the social value and development of Hohhot′s Islamic culture, and argues that Hohhot′s Islamic culture will continue to adapt to socialist society in a multi–culture environment, through its own adjustment and protection of religious policy.
