A Study On The Exploitation And Utilization Of Cultural Resources In Small Cities

Construction of small towns is a key part in the development and construction of China. Small towns, as the intermediate zones between cities and rural areas, have become the focal point and emphasis of our country's economic construction. To develop the cultural resources is an important way to get sustainable development of small towns. The development to small towns cannot go without the development and research of cultural resources, which is also an important foundation for economic development. This thesis takes Pizhou as an example and makes a systematic investigation and study on the exploitation and utilization of cultural resources in small towns. The thesis consists of three chapters:preface, text and conclusion. The first chapter introduces the purpose, history and current situation of the study on the exploitation and utilization of cultural resources in small towns as well as the research contents and methods of the thesis. The second chapter analyses the development status of cultural resources in small towns. Taking Pizhou as an example, this chapter concretly analyses the present status, problems, experiences and lessons of and solutions to the development of cultural resources in small towns from the three aspects of cultural resources:agriculture, history and folk customs. Each aspect introduces in turn the relative cultural resources in Pizhou and their present status. Picking out one or two typical examples, each aspect analyses their development status, experiences and lessons, problems and strategies for exploitation and utilization. According to the practical situation, this chapter makes a concluding statement of the problems and strategies of the three aspects with examples. The third chapter draws a conclusion based on the statements of the first two chapters that the development and construction of small towns should not follow the line of urbanism, but should make full use of characteristic of countryside, stress rustic styles and open up a rural leisure vacation market. The operation of resource development should follow the following principles:rustic characteristic, natural style and service consciousness. And the following aspects should be paid more attention to in the operation of resource development:(1) to definite the goal of resource development and develop rationally; to tap the artistic value of the products from the perspectives of truth-seeking,moral-establishing and artistry; (2) to continue to expand and exploit cultural resources and make the resources finer; (3) to be attentive to details and construct a civilized and harmonious environment; (4) to form regional features and urban characteristics and to establish an attractive image; (5) to have international consciousness. In brief, small towns should try to build up a good human and culture environment to strengthen the cultural foundation and create a conductive environment for the development of cultural resources.
