In the globalization's day, the relationship between state and society is a basic and important issue in modern national politic, because it relates to so many theoretical and practical issues, such as the healthy operation of the market economy, the promotion of social democracy and the autonomization of the social life. Marx's theory of the relationship between civil society and the state incluses the basic problems of modern society. As a post-developmental state, china's modernization process need to the addressed in the new historical condition, the relationship between state and society re-positioning and building development model. The modernization of China is inseparable from a mature and rational formation of civil society, but also need to play the state's guiding role in the formation of national and social interaction between the two relationships. In this paper, civil society, Marx's theory and its contemporary development of the doctrine to explore the relationship between state and society in contemporary China a reasonable structure for China to correctly handle the relationship between state and civil society to provide theoretical support. This paper analyzes the market-oriented reforms, the market economy on the cultivation of the role of civil society and analyzes the obstacles of contemporary China to build national and positive interaction between civil society and the state.
