Currently, most studies on the art therapy has focused on the introduction of theory and the research of applied effect. But there are fewer case studies on the real treatment process and effects. not only that, some case studies'objects are the adolescents or adults. The case study of preschool children are even less. On the consideration of the theoretical research and practice, this study will attempt to use the art therapy to intervent a young children aged four and a half who has mental health problems, and research the intervention process. All these explore the effect of the interventation and provide the advice and reference material for the relevant advisory and theoretical research.This study consists of six parts. The first part raise the question. Art therapy as a healthy effective treatment technique can be applied to this group of young children to prove the necessity and feasibility of this study.The second part is the literature review. This part defines art therapy and children mental health, explores the theoretical basis,explores the research status at home and abroad, describes the standard of children mental health, describes the type and performance of children common mental problem, finds out the problems and development trends of research about children mental health problems.The third part is the research design. Based on the learning and research of relented theories, it proposed objectives of this study, research methods, research projects and research tools. It mainly uses case study to research a children with mental health problems. It unfold with the pretest-intervention-posttest-analysis. The pretest and posttest is measured by The Child Behavior Checklist and The Tree Drawing Test. The fourth part is the intervention process of the case. This part presents the basic information of the case, demonstrate the intervention ideas and programs design, intervention process and emotional behavior, and show out the paintings in these several intervene processes and analysis of these paintingsPart V is the intervention results and discussion. It analyses and evalue emotional and behavioral changes of the case useing Child Behavior Checklist and The Tree Drawing Test. The results show that the openness of the case is increased, formation of an effective new mode of interaction with the outside world is formed, social skills and activity has been greatly improved.Part VI is a summary. This part Summarizes the process of this study,the change of the case in the process of treatment,the meaning of the art therapy interventing the children's mental problems,the important questions of going art therapy for children and so on.
