Mixed Chinese Traditional Culture With Modern Writing Experience

Ling Shuhua is a unique style writer in modern Chinese literary history, whose father was a politician. she was interested in Chinese traditional culture in her childhood, and she was successful in literature and painting. Her first Work was published in 1924, and the last published in 1984. Because of her unique life experience and artistic pursuit, she always use the narrative objective and calm way to describe the unique imprint of her period. In her works, there are hardly the great sadness and happiness of shaking our heart, nor the suffering of the kind of piercing experiences, and even rarely those bloody scenes, and mostly some fragments of ordinary life. The main characters of her works are the women and children. Magnum opuses are "Flower Temple", "Woman," "Little children" and "rhyme", etc.Chekhov was the most important novelist of Russian in nineteenth century, and his novel was famous for objective refining, humor style, lively language, implied meanings. He was good at finding the special people and things in the daily life. In order to reflect the current Russian society, He created his special characters of his works in humorous way. Magnum opuses are "chameleon", "Trapper", "Prairie " , etc.In the early twentieth century, Chekhov's literary works which were translated to many countries have been produced a strong influence in the world. Many countries' writers were influenced by his literary works more or less. Ling Shuhua was the first female writers in"Five Fourth"period, and to view her whole life, we can find that her most works were published in 20, 30 years of 20th century. At the same time, a lot of Chekhov's literary works were translated to China, so whether Ling Shuhua was influenced by Chekhov's novels when she was engaged in writing?Therefore, this paper uses the perspective of comparative literature to demonstrate the view that whether Ling Shuhua was influenced by Chekhov's novels. There are three parts in this paper, which are introduction, body and conclusion.In the part of Introduction, there are research on Ling Shuhua and the world influence of Chekhov's novel, leading to the starting point of this paper.Part of the body is divided into two chapters: the first chapter and the second chapter. The first chapter is to study the possibility that novels of Ling Shuhua were affected by Chekov's. The section is based on the historical data and the works, which consists of letters from Ling Shuhua to her friends, comments in her ages and the changes about her novels' style in1920s.The second chapter is to find the style of the similarities in Ling Shuhua's and Chekov's literary works by comparing theirs' works. This chapter is divided into three parts, which consists of Narrative principle, aesthetic ideal, the image of the analysis.Conclusion is the last part of this paper. We can find a view that Ling Shuhua was influenced by Chekhov's novels in her writing. However, we need to point out the facts that although Ling Shuhua was affected by Chekov's novels, the style of their novels is not exactly the same. Ling Shuhua was influenced by Chekov's writing experience, but she was also deeply affected by Chinese traditional culture. Therefore, she creatively mixed Chinese traditional culture with modern writing experience, which leads to her unique style.
