Mental illness stigma is an ashamed mark attached to people with mental illness, which is the status loss and discrimination triggered by negative stereotypes about people labels as having mental illness. Self-stigma is when people internalization public stigma produced when self-esteem and self-efficacy of loss, refers to the group members will be stigma stigmatized attitude to my response. Research proves self stigma leads to low self-esteem is reduced, and the quality of life, social relations damaged and turn off and treatment of the extended or terminate, seriously hamper the treatment of patients recovered.In order to explore the Chinese culture background whether there are depression self-stigma and discusses depression self-stigma characteristics, this paper revised Kanteret (2008) compiling of depression self-stigma questionnaire. And with the revised depression self-stigma questionnaire as measuring tools, discusses the self-efficacy, social avoidance and depression self-stigma, the relationship between the following conclusions:(1)Revised Kanteret depression self-stigma questionnaire, includes three dimensions: secrecy, stigma experience, stereotype identity. The total dimensions and questionnaire survey has good reliability and validity , it can meet the demand of psychometric index .(2)Depression self-stigma in demography variable of the significant differences. different age groups of depression self-stigma except the secrecy dimension outside, in total, stigma experience, stereotype identity remarkable difference. Depression self- stigma has increases with age rise. Different degree of depression self-stigma except the secrecy dimension outside, in total, stigma experience, stereotype identity remarkable difference. Depression self-stigma has with the background of the rise and decline of the trend.(3) Significant negative correlation is found between self-efficacy and depression self-stigma, social avoidance and depression self-stigma has significant positive correlation. self-efficacy and social avoidance has significant negative correlation.(4)Self-efficacy has mediating effect between depression self-stigma and social avoidance , that is to say depression self-stigma influences social avoidance through self-efficacy.
