As the comprehensive national power of China is enhancing and the international prestige is improving, more and more people start learning Chinese globally. Chinese will definitely step into international arena. In July 2005, the World First Chinese Conference was held in Beijing, which marked the change from Chinese language teaching for foreigners to the international promotion of Chinese language. Chinese language teaching for foreigners is changing from"enrolling in"to"walking out". Therefore, we propose the subject of"Research on the International Promotion Strategies of Chinese Language in Liaoning Province", which has great theoretical and practical meanings.In the research methods, this subject is guided by the theory of language planning, and based on the investigation and analysis of present situation of the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province. On the basis of researching data and results, this subject discusses the development of the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province in chronological order, compares the features of different stages, thoroughly analyzes the advantages and disadvantages in the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province relying on the current situations of each part of the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province. Moreover, this subject researches the International Promotion Strategies of Chinese Language from the perspective of language planning theory, and aims at offering reliable evidence for Liaoning Province or even the entire nation in formulating language policies.There are ten chapters in this thesis. The first half part is the research on the current situation of the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province, including the development history of the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province, the influences of the environment of Liaoning Province on the international promotion of Chinese language, the construction of Confusion Institutes in Liaoning Province, the current situation of enrollment, management and education of overseas students in Liaoning Province, the team of Chinese language teaching, the composition analysis of overseas students in Liaoning Province.Through the complete analysis of these basic situations, we find that the advantages and achievement of the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province are outstanding. However, there are some problems in the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province, which mainly are the imbalanced distribution of overseas students and inflexibility of enrollment channels and methods. Finally, the author focuses on the development strategies of the international promotion of Chinese language in Liaoning Province, mainly including geopolitical strategy, enrollment strategy, management strategy, academic strategy, publicity strategy and developing strategy.The choosing of this subject is extremely prospective and creative in the field of Chinese language planning and research. The research findings will definitely enrich the theory of Chinese language promotion and even language planning, and have the multi-functions of researching materials supply, theory expansion and practical instruction, which can guide the practice and finally facilitate the all-round development of the international promotion of Chinese language.
