This thesis comparatively studies the policies and organizations set up for international promotion of Chinese language in developed countries such as the Britain and the United States primarily from macro perspectives of national language strategy.The writer analyzes some problems existing in the promotion of Chinese language and proposes responsive resolutions.The thesis consists of 8 chapters as follows:Chapter One Introduction.The introduction part includes what inspires the writer to select this subject,how to define the study objects,rudimental concepts of the key words,the significance of the study,the theoretical background and research framework and among others.Chapter Two Literature ReviewFirstly,the writer analyzes the data collected in the study of the promotion of Chinese language in this chapter.Secondly,the writer combs the status of the use of teaching materials,the quality of teachers,as well as ways to foster Chinese language teachers and the construction of its team.Finally,the chapter lays out an outline of the study of current Confucius Institutes.Chapter ThreeIn this chapter,the writer mainly reviews the history of the international promotion of Chinese language and briefly introduces the management mechanics of the whole process,the Confucius Institutes set up in the world,Chinese Language Proficiency Test,and the current status of international cooperation in this field.Chapter FourIn this chapter,the writer,taking the Britain,France,Japan,Korea and the United States as examples,comparatively analyzes the strategy employed in the promotion and its practical implements.Based on the above study,the chapter summarizes the experiences and enlightment in policies making in different countries.Chapter FiveIn this chapter,the writer objectively depicts the current status of the international promotion of the Chinese language by collecting,classifying and comparing the recent ten years of data concerning Confucius Institutes.Consequently,the writer reveals the regularity involving in the international promotion of Chinese.Chapter SixIn this chapter,the writer figures out various issues involving in the international promotionof Chinese language with detailed explanation from multi-perspectives such as opportunities and challenges including the facets as strategy,system,funds and programs itself.Chapter SevenBased on the problems the promotion faced with,the writer further studies the possibilities to promote the Chinese language internationally in a multi-model way with matched policies and measures.The writer also proposes to raise funds from diverse ways to realize a all-round improvement in the international promotion of Chinese with high quality and finally set up a reasonable evaluation system.Chapter Eight ConclusionThis chapter is a conclusive one with a comprehensive summary.The writer states briefly the lacks and insufficiency in the study and lists up some of the study not yet unfolded to be discussed.
