Intercultural communication comprises: verbal communication and noverbal communication. Nonverbal communication can reveal people's underlying attitudes and values, so it plays an important role in intercultural communication(Bijiwan 1999). However, People tend to attach more importance to verbal communication and value the correctness of language in TCSL. Teachers also neglect cultivating students'intercultural noverbal communicative competence. Our teaching's goal is that students can relay and receive information naturaly and appropriately in intercultural communication. In order to attain the goal ,just cultivating students'verbal communication competence is not enough. we should combine teaching cultural differences of nonverbal communication with practical drills. This thesis is divided into four sections. The first chapter is the introduction. The second chapter provides the theoretical bases of the thesis. It introduces the definition, types and characteristics of nonverbal communication and defines"intercultural nonverbal communicative competence(INCC)". The third chapter is about the survey of international students'INCC and their teachers'INCC. The finding of study suggest both studens and teachers'awareness of nonverbal communication are not sensitive. In the last chapter, I analyse the finding and make some tentative suggestions on how to cultivate iternational students'INCC.
