Eysenck divide personality into the Extraversion-introversion, neuroticism, psychoticism , in this several dimensions, neuroticism is strongly associated with emotion and may influence people's emotional response to stimuli, this study attempts to use Macleod's point detection paradigm to test whether individual differences in attentional bias to emotional stimuli are correlated with neuroticism in college students .There were recorded from 20 high neurotic and 20 low neurotic participants, who were selected from 200 college students according to the scores in neuroticism and extraversion of Eysenck Personality Questionnaire .The age of subjects ,were range of 20to25, Participants were presented slides of International Affective Picture System (IAPS) posing 30 positive, 30negative and 30 neutral pictures. The experiment was designed in E-prime with which recorded the response time of the probe,s letters in order to study different factors (such as personality traits, the present time, emotional value) how to effect the attentional bias of emotional stimuli and analyse the attentional bias traits of different level neurotic participants, This study included two experimental tasks: attentional bias studies that stimuli were presented simultaneously with emotional stimuli and the neutral stimulus and anther research about attentional bias when stimuli were presented simultaneously with positive stimuli and negative stimulus . The analysis of variance with two repeated factor showed that:(1)When stimuli were presented simultaneously with emotional stimuli and the neutral stimulus, the high-neuroticism subjects are trend to pay attention to negative image in the early (500 ms)while in the late (1250 ms), this attentional bias disappears. Low neuroticism were tested to show the existence of stimuli attentional bias to negative picture both early and late .(2) when stimuli were presented simultaneously with positive stimuli and negative stimulus , low-neuroticism subjects were not paying attention to the emotional stimulus and high-neuroticism subjects have the attentional bias to negative pictures when the stimuli presents 500 milliseconds.
