In the era of economic and cultural globalization, English as tool and media, plays growingly important role in international exchanges and information transmission. As a result, competencies for English listening and speaking have become essentials for talents in the modern times. To improve these competencies, the fast track is via Audio-visual course. Combining traditional vis-a-vis teaching and on-line learning (Combined Approach) is of realistic and guiding significance for the Audio-visual course.A systematic research is made in the article on Combined Approach in the teaching of College English Audio-visual course. The article starts with elaborations on Combined Approach's definition, connotation, applied model and relevant theories, and further expounds its impact on College English Audio-visual teaching. Then the article, based on questionnaires and interviews, analyzes real-life situations, and problems and causes. In the part of Combine Approach composition, a systematic elaboration is made on its theories, implementation procedures and methodologies. In experimental research, the Approach helps to improve student's capabilities of self-learning and coordinated study. In the last part, a summarization and an outlook are made on the research.
