The Cerebration On Postmodern Western Literature Under Aesthetic View

The present thesis discusses the aesthetics thinking about and exploration in postmodernism western literature. First originated in Europe and America in 1950s and 1960s, postmodern western literature gradually spread to such places as Latin America and Asia, with new literature variants appearing. Social unrest brought spirit flaw and belief vacancy as well as the separation between rational spirit and perceptual self which became the hotbed of postmodern western literature. Meanwhile non-rationalism, the existentialism of Heidegger and Sartre, the post-structuralism of Derrida and Foucault, and the postmodern aesthetics of Lyotard have left a great influence on the formation of postmodern western literature.The paper first presents the definition of postmodern literature, its genres, social background, philosophy and aesthetics bases. Following is an analysis of the aesthetics feature, aesthetics value and tendency of postmodern literature. At the end, a conclusion of the social and literature influence of postmodern literature as well as its aesthetics value and developing tendency is made from the perspective of aesthetics. The author has tried to get rid of the negative impact of Postmodernism western literature and seek for points from which could be utilized by contemporary literature and advance the social development by refining its social and aesthetics value.
