In the long course of historical development,ethnic minorities in China have formed their own unique way of thinking,aesthetic consciousness and cultural tradition.The domestic research on aesthetic theory of ethnic minorities has attracted more and more attention in recent years.Studies on domain definition of minority aesthetics,formation of aesthetic psychology and the foundation of aesthetic value of ethnic minorities from the macro perspective and national aesthetic consciousness and culture of the southern and northern ethnic minorities from the micro perspective are remarkable academic growing points.Mongolian has a long history and profound national culture.Rooted in the nomadic culture of the north,the Mongolian people form their own unique aesthetic awareness and aesthetic culture with the advancement of production practice and social practice.Aesthetic imagery,depriving from cultural tradition,customs and religious belief of the aesthetic subject,is the central form of national aesthetic consciousness.The development of aesthetic imagery reflects the changes of aesthetic consciousness and cultural tradition.Therefore,the investigation of aesthetic imagery gives a highlight to the unique stylistic feature of aesthetic consciousness and culture.It can be said that the research of aesthetic imagery is the core of aesthetic theory.Based on previous research,the thesis uses the latest achievements in scientific aesthetics research and theories related to psychology,anthropology,ethnology.Most importantly,it analyzes aesthetic imagery of Jangar,Mongolian classical heroic epic from the perspectives of nature,society and culture.Works play a key role in literature.The thesis mainly takes Chinese translation of Mongolian works and Chinese works created by Mongolian writers as research models,which systematically explains formation conditions and factors,major forms and stylistic features of aesthetic imagery,combined with the investigation of other Mongolian art forms and local customs,so that it will provide help for the further study of Mongolian aesthetic consciousness and the aesthetic culture.This thesis is divided into 5 chapters.The first chapter is mainly about macro aesthetic theories of ethnic minorities and then summarizes aesthetic consciousness and culture out of their own national standpoints,finally focuses on the current research of the Mongolian aesthetic theory and introduces the research significance and research method.The study of aesthetic theory of ethnic minorities in China has been widespread from both macro and micro angles,such as literature,art,customs,life,religion,morality and so on.However,these studies are only fragmentary and superficial because the level of thematic research and comprehensive research is not deep enough.Along with the further research,the Mongolian unique aesthetic imagery,aesthetic consciousness,further research of aesthetic culture will be important topics.The second chapter discusses the formation condition and factors of Mongolian aesthetic imagery.According to the principle of cognitive aesthetics about aesthetic mechanism,this part describes the formation mechanism of Mongolian perception mode and aesthetic cognition module from aspects such as natural geographical environment,battle migration and primitive religion.Since ancient times,Mongolian people have lived in the Mongolia plateau where it is very cold and lack of rain.There is no other plants except grass.Such a geographical environment decides Mongolian nomadic way of life,and even the formation of unique aesthetic consciousness.Mongolian history was full of migrations and wars in which Mongolian people communicated and exchanged with other nationalities in the world and also influenced with each other in aesthetic consciousness and culture.Mongols absorbed and influenced multi-national cultures such as Han,Uygur,Tibetan,Manchu and so on.Through the process of absorption,inheritance and development,Mongolian people form a unique Mongolian aesthetic imagery.Art and religion are cognate.The primitive religion is full of aesthetic factors.Shamanism,Mongolian primitive religion,exists in myths and legends,Shaman Divine Song and heroic epic,eulogy,lyrical ballads and other art forms.Through the study of shamanistic ceremonies and activities,this part analyzes the important influence of primitive religion on the formation of Mongolian aesthetic consciousness.The third chapter analyzes the main forms of Mongolian literary aesthetic imagery.Mongolian folk literature,rich and developed,occupies an important position in the Mongolian literature history.One of the most famous classic is oral epic Jangar with profound aesthetic images such as the horse image,color image,optical image,grassland image,aesthetic image related to other Mongolian literature forms and national traditions.By using the principle of formation mechanism of form perceptual pattern and aesthetic cognitive module in scientific aesthetic study,this chapter probes into anthropology,psychology and other related theories to analyze the reasons for their formation,the existence of rationality,as well as the rich connotation of national culture.The fourth chapter defines and sums up the stylistic features of Mongolian literary aesthetic imagery.Through investigation,the Mongolian aesthetic imagery consists of four main forms,namely,power,simplicity,magnificence and desolation.In different historical periods and social life,the four forms are connected and compatible with each other instead of seperation.In another word,they are the most representative and prominent stylistic features among the rich aesthetic imageries,aesthetic activities and aesthetic thoughts.The fifth chapter,the conclusion,points out the modern trend and realistic predicament of the Mongolian aesthetic culture,and puts forward the urgency of protecting Mongolian and other ethnic minorities' aesthetic culture in the postmodern transition period.Through the above analysis about the formation conditions and factors,main forms and style of Mongolian aesthetic imagery in Jangar,the thesis is expected to open up a new path for the scientific study of Mongolian aesthetic theory and gains a new perspective on further research of aesthetic culture of Chinese minorities.
