Breakthrough Point For Graphic Creation

All information need carrier to help themselves get through. According to different content, information need different carrier. Graphics, in a broad sense of the word, means a kind of visual expression which carrying some idea. In a narrow sense, Graphics means specific pattern; color; material; measure and the various composing of these four factors. Graphics can tell us how people understand the objects surrounding us and what these objects are in our mind. With the progressing in science and technique and the following information explosion, graphics is becoming one of the most important ways to spread/transmit our feeling and conception. By the way common people can understand easily, it has become one new method to facilitate people's communication. As one kind of visual language symbol, graphics is becoming more and more important factor because it can improve not only our visual communication quality but also our ability of vision expression.Today, when novelty and unique are emphasized to excess, people design graphics just for strangeness that result to many strange graphics carrying none spirit coming from our history and culture. Without inner soul, there are only shapes/outer form left and the action of designing become simple shape copy and designer become a clown who just want to impress people by strange but nonsense graphics.When face a design requirement, as so called designer we usually have no idea, less expression way and obscure guide line. "Originality-Originality" we emptily shout again and again. While when we really want to make a start at this design we find we can not do anything. Under the pressure of life, many people copy artworks from European-American and our conventional culture. In order to get visional impression some people even make a graphic of dismembered human body which make spectator sick. In face of such trouble we have to think back and examine ourselves to find what is wrong with our inner soul and what our shortage is. In this paper we try to solve this problem by two ways. One is learning and using European's visual language actively and reasonably. The other way is looking back our traditional culture and mining for visual language in this rich and colorful source.This paper has five chapters, first and the second chapter talks about modern graphic conception and culture. The third chapter talks about the thinking process of graphic creation. The fifth chapter talks about the expressing way and skill. The sixth chapter talks about renewal of traditional graphics.
