Rhetorical question sentence has its own characteristic. Both grammatical and rhetorical scholars have great interest in rhetorical question. Scholars have published a series of articles, and the research can be described as fruitful. Looking at the researches, we found that the researches basically concentrated in the rhetorical question of the ontology and application, which means that we can study the rhetorical question from other aspects. Under the background that Cognitive Linguistics develops rapidly, the relationship between language and cognitive research become a trend. Therefore, we chose to go with the tide and chose the rhetorical question mark as the research object, from a cognitive perspective to study rhetorical question mark types, characteristics and functions to provide an understanding and awareness of the new point of rhetorical questions. This paper is elaborated in four chapters:Chapter I:to identify rhetorical question mark with the theory of cognitive linguistics. Specifically, the rhetorical question mark has five categories:adverb marker, marking interrogative pronouns, modal verbs tag end of the sentence demonstrative pronouns Modal marking and markers. After careful discussion of the sub-tag under type of mark we suggest that modal verbs and adverbs tag are the typical rhetorical question marks.Chapter II:further study the characteristics of the rhetorical question mark. According to the different roles played by markers in the sentence, we think that marks has levels, repetition and relative features. Typically, these three characteristics are not presented separately, but together to help realize the semantic and emotional expressions of rhetorical sentences.Chapter III:Analyze the three major functions of rhetorical question mark. From the semantic point of view, marks emphasize expression of sentences, which have a great relationship with the adverbs and interrogative pronouns had been used or not; from a pragmatic point of view, markers can help identify rhetorical question, rhetorical tone, enhance and strengthen emotion; from a cognitive perspective, the tags can significantly improve the reliability and highlight the metaphorical. In this chapter, we elaborate the mark which can enhance the rhetorical tone. And we suggest that rhetorical question could be divided into strong, medium and weak in degree of significance. The strong significance and the medium significance rhetorical question sentences are at the core position in the rhetorical question sentence family, and weak significance rhetorical question on edge and ambiguity in the rhetorical question the family. And we suggest that the tags can highlight the metaphor is to achieve a interpersonal function:to increase intimacy, increase euphemism, and increase the courtesy of rhetorical question.Chapter IV:To investigate the relationship between rhetorical question mark and marks of other sentence pattern. According to the expression of language and people's cognitive model has a "same structure" theory, we believe that the expression of rhetorical forms and people's cognitive model does not have the "same structure." Because of this different structure, rhetorical questions are to difficult to understand that you need to convert them to declarative or exclamatory or imperative sentence, which makes that there is a marker the iconic relationship between the rhetorical questions and declarative sentences, exclamatory, imperative sentences.
