After thirty years long of theoretical study and accumulation, British sociologist Anthony Giddens found a new path, made an original survey and elucidated on modernity with his unique theoretical perspective. Then he became one of the most important sociologists and social thinkers. In recent years, the research on Giddens modernity ideology system has evolved as the focus of the people's attention. Modernity, as a double-edged sword, brought unprecedented technical and cultural progress for human society, and at the same time brought kinds of questions inevitably, of which the moral question was the most important. The theoretical research on modern society runs through one moral masterstroke all along which axes is modernity ideology by Giddens. To make clear this masterstroke means a lot for us to re-examine the highly-developed modernity under the situation so much phenomenon and to think the developing direction of moral education today.Through analysis of the theoretical source and social background of Giddens modernity ideology deeply, this paper expound several core viewpoints in detail, and based on the viewpoints, a series of theories contains morality about modernity are further analyzed:the fracture and loss of value standard is one of the consequences of modernity; to achieve self-identity under modern social background is based on trust; how to dispel and restructure the traditional moral is the important problem in front of world.; facing the aftermath of modernity, achieving the restructure of social moral becomes the goal for every member of society and so on. In addition, from the Angle of the moral education, the paper puts forward the limitations and contradictions of Giddens modernity ideology, then analogized the revelation for our country's moral education more objectively and rationally.In the end, according to the morality captains in Giddens modernity ideology, set forward my proposition about Chinese moral education reform today:Moral education research should highlight the individual initiative:at the time of stressing theoretical research, We should see the research value based on social practice; as educators, We should face the highly developed problems based on modern society background; in environment of "disembeding", we should pay attention to the rebuilt of basic trust relationship between people; moral education should be focused on implementation of individual's moral of soul in the specific practice; we should set up a Sublime moral ideal inwardly, and be ready for the challenge and attack presented by globalization to us human society in an optimistic mood; through positive self-reflection and democratic dialogue. We should achieve individual's plan of moral reflection and so on.
