As a kind of service occupation, nurse is a professional and humanistic job. Nurse's work is a kind of emotional labor. It is important to care about nurse's job and mental health for a better medical service.This research mostly emended Grandey's emotional labor questionnaire and make it more in accord with Chinese actuation, culture and codes of language. According to the research, the emended questionnaire is in good reliability and validity.This research also studied nurse's personality traits, emotional labor, job burnout and the correlation of them. The results are as follows.A. Most nurses are tent to take "deep acting" or express their own genuine emotions during nursing. And the current situation of nurse's exhaustion and sense of inefficacy is worse than the norm.B. Older nurses are apt to use "surface acting" more than the youngers. And there is no significant difference of emotional labors or job burnout between married nurses and those are not. Nurses of worked for 4-7 years have more expression of genuine emotions than those of worked for no more than 1 year or 8-15 years. Also, nurses who have been worked for no more than 1 year have more sense of inefficacy then the others.C. Both agreeableness and conscientiousness of nurses are negative correlated to their surface acting but positive correlated to their deep acting and expression of genuine emotions.D. Nurses'exhaustion and cynicism are positive correlated to neuroticism. All the three factors of job burnout are positive correlated to extraversion but negative correlated to agreeableness. Opening nurses have more exhaustion and cynicism, and those are more conscientious have less exhaustion and sense of inefficacy.E. Nurse who have more "surface acting" have more exhaustion, cynicism, and sense of inefficacy. And both "deep acting" and "expression of genuine emotions" are negative correlated to all the three factors of job burnout.
