This paper makes a comparative study about the Chinese word "gei" and the Thai word "(?)" under the guidance of the theory of Contrastive Linguistics, using comparative study method method. The study gose on manily from three aspects:the part of speech, semantic and syntax function. Through the comparation, we found that there are some similarities and differences between "gei" and "(?)"The similaraties are:they are both verbs with the meaning of "giving"; they are both prepositions with the function of introducting service object; they are both auxiliary words; as verb, they are both transive verbs; they can be both followed with double-object; they both have V-V Struction and Subject-Object Structure. The differences mainly perform in three aspects:1.differences in part of speech: "gei" grammaticalizes from verb to auxiliary word with a clear grammaticalization process, while "(?)" is a concurrence verb with four word classes which are transive verb, preposition, tendency verb and structure auxiliary word, enen conjunction; 2.differences in semantic:"gei" dose not have the meaning of "offering", "proposing" "showing"and "commanding"; 3. differences in syntax function:the four "gei" sentences have no completely corresponding Thai sentences, and the V-V Structiure and Subject-Object Structure are different, and the modalities of "geiwo" and "(?)" used in imperative clause are different. The results can provide some help in Chinese teaching to Thai, textbook compilation and dictionary-making.
