'Beibaoke'is transferred from the word, backpacker. It is a term that has been used to denote those travelers who always travel with a huge backpack, whilst it is also means those independent travelers with low budgets and high independence. Backpacking has been already popular in Europe and the United States, but gradually comes to China. Psychological resilience is a popular concept since this century, while researchers tend to concentrate on the source of this resilience and its intra-influencing model.Based on the analysis of relevant domestic and overseas literature, this research combines an investigative questionnaire, psychological scales, semi-structured interviews, in order to explore the special group of people, backpackers, via psychological resilience angle. It is intended to study the influence of backpacking on backpackers'psychological resilience. The entire dissertation is made up of three parts:the first part is the review of literature, the second part is the main study, and the third part is the results and advice.Part One, the development and history of backpackers are briefly reviewed, whilst the literature of psychological resilience are generally introduced as well. It is especially elaborated how and why to channel backpacking experience into psychological resilience.Part Two, it combines qualitative and quantitative researches. The questionnaire is structured via short interviews of backpackers. General information of backpackers and backpacking are obtained via this questionnaire. Two psychological scales are used to analyze the level of backpackers'psychological resilience. It indicates that the overall backpackers'psychological resilience is better than control groups without statistical discrimination, but those experienced backpackers are statistically better.10 backpackers are selected to take a semi-structured interview. Based on the results of interview, the general information of backpackers'psychological resilience background information and psychological resilience influence factors are structured. Then the model, the influence of backpacking on backpackers'psychological resilience, is constructed. It calculates that backpacking would influence people via various channels which would integrate into one's psychological resilience.Part Three, it summarizes the results of this dissertation, backpacking would cast influence on one's cognition, motion, volition and action, whilst make one's psychological resilience evolved. Meanwhile, the study provides professional advices for backpackers, the family of backpackers and the society so as to utilize the protective influence of backpacking more scientifically.
