| Ru Porcelain is famous for its polished glazing color, fine model and simple design. These features help Ru Porcelain rang first among five most famous Porcelains that are Ru, Guan, Jun, Ge, and Ding. Ru Porcelain has shown simple, elegant, quiet and haughty features which respect for pure, safe, luck and rich. Also it has abundant cultural connotation.This paper does its best to find out the way of combining the Ru Porcelain culture and modern decoration, which can improve the novelty of the Ru Porcelain design and expand the application of Ru Porcelain elements. The article is divided into three parts:The first part, combined with ancient Chinese philosophy, especially the changes in aesthetics, the development route of the basic context of the Song Ru Porcelain was shown to audiences. Based on the results, paper summarized the basic characteristics of Ru Porcelain and its aesthetic ideas. The second part surveyed the survival and development situations of the Ru Porcelain industry. According to the results, author tried to find out the design flaws in the development of modern Ru Porcelain. The reasons for the flaws were also given. For the third part, paper got the basic law and methods of the combination of Porcelain with modern decoration art by analyzing representative examples which were about the combination of other ancient Chinese ceramics with modern design. Besides, paper finds out a method of applying rule of porcelain molding principle in the design of Ru Porcelain which origin from natural object, base on traditional symbol, orient on rhythm cadence, decorate with decorating pattern. Moreover, paper found out a way to apply Ru Porcelain in the modern decoration by comparing the current development situation of Ru Porcelain and other typical pottery, together with the intrinsic characters of Ru Porcelain and glazing color. Practical application was also explore in the article.
