Symmetrical structure of Modern Chinese indicates that two or more same or similar parts parallel and correspond to each other. In this way, the semantic whole is formed. This grammatical phenomenon can be easily found in the daily use of Chinese language. In the past, the study of symmetrical structure was only focusing on the description of the facts of language, but a "macro-explanation" has never been given. Base on the theory of "three parallel thoughts", this article also combines with the relevant knowledge of linguistic and philology, deeply researches the cultural connotation of the Symmetrical structure, which greatly expanded our understanding of the relation between Symmetrical structure and Chinese national culture.Except the introduction and conclusion, the article is divided into three parts. The first part generalizes the features of the Symmetrical structure through extensive investigation, which is based on plenty of language facts. The first part not only clearly defines the objects of search, but also explains their structure types and functions, which perfectly reflect the difference between Symmetrical structure itself and antithetical parallelism, thereby illustrating the essential character of Symmetrical Structure. The second part starts with the semantic symmetry, then fully analyses the significance of symmetrical structure and the big pragmatic value of it. In the third part, the research perspective dates back to the history of symmetrical structure and carries out the investigation of the effect which has been brought by history and culture. At last, the article explains the reason of symmetrical structure's existence and the reason of involving Chinese profound cultural psychology.
