On Semantic Slant In Structure Of "Have+N"

The noun'Level'or'idea'are non-emotional words.As long as they are applied into the structure "Have+N",they would undergo the process of semantic slant,which is very common in modern Chinese. Semantic slant of nouns is a trans-linguistics phenomenon and has been studied by numerous scholars at home and abroad.The paper is to amylase the semantic slant in the structure "have+N"First of all,the paper should give analysis into the number of syllables and semantic features of the nouns. The nouns,which can be applied into the structure "have+N" include monosyllabic words disyllable words and multi-syllable words.In terms of semantic feature,nouns, concrete nouns and abstract nouns,which can enter the structure,have been listed as many as possible. Besides, their characteristics have been summarized as follows:The concrete nouns can enter the structure carry with associative meaning.Abstract nouns generally speaking,include items which express emotions. The structure "have+N"is a fixed strcture and "N" can never be omitted. The paper also give research on the constraints on the structure.To begin with,the use of frequency matters. Second,nouns can be used after "Have".Third,there must emerge the corresponding adjetives.The recommending conclusions,after analyzing abundant materials are as fllows.Nouns in the structure "have+N" can carry positive meaning, negative meaning, positive as well as negative meaning or better meaning,among which, positive meaning are very common.In response to the phenomenon,different scholars make different explanations. I agree with Mr.Zhou Shao Hua's opinion,that is,pragmatic frequency serves as an important factor of affecting the slant.Semantic Slant of nouns can be attributed to the fact that people try to use less words to express more.Once semantic slant occurs, the structure "Have+N" now presents more characteristics. It can serves as much more grammaticalcomponents;It can be modified by adverbs; the numeral quantifier would encounter some limits if it is used to modify nouns. The reason the structure "Have+N" can still exist for long,even after it undergo the process of semantic slant,is that it is endowed with unique pragmatic expression,which renders the sentences more implicit,brief and expressive.Besides,the structure of semantic slant can facilitate a noun to transform into a adjective as well while have some influence on the compiles of the dictionary. Tje structure of semantic slant,once modified by adverb, are equivalent to the structure of "adverbs=nouns" though meet with some constraints.
