The Research Of Auxiliary Words Of The Approximate Number 'Ba, Lai, Duo' In Modern Chinese

In modern Chinese, auxiliary words of the approximate number are used to express approximate quantity. This article selects three one-syllable auxiliary words of the approximate number which are often used orally'ba, lai, duo'to describe inspection. Based on previous research by a large number of corpus, these three words are more carefully described in synchronic aspect in order to deepen understanding and offer reference to Teaching Chinese as Second Language.The first chapter synchronically describes ba's distribution, syntactic function, collocation restrictions and its selection of classifiers, numerals and nouns. In addition to that, the pragmatic features of'X ba'and the pragmatic tendency of'X ba liang X'are also inspected.From the three planes, chapter 2 carries out lai's detailed description of its selection of numerals and classifiers.I has been found out that,'lai'has different sections on numerals in different collocations and has limited restrictions to classifiers. Besides, the expressing scopes of semantic and pragmatic functions are also studied.Chapter 3 analyzes'duo'synchronically in its distribution, semantic and pragmatic tendencies, and discusses its selection of numerals and classifiers.Chapter 4 summarizes the main contents, concludes position in the syntax, syntactic function, the selection of classifiers, pragmatic aspect of the similarities and differences among the three words. Final part is a reflection on the production of the auxiliary words of the approximate number.
