Objective: Learning about the mental health states of left-behind junior high school students,and coping style of influence to mental health. The problems of mental health states of left-behind junior high school students and coping style has attracted lots of attentions and researches. Some scholars have investigated the mental health states of left-behind junior high school students and the influencing factors of coping style, but not made the systematic and independent researches of the relationship between mental health and coping style.This research is on the basis of predecessors,and take 'the questionnaire of middle school students coping style'by the Chen ShuLin and'the chart of middle school students mental health' by Wang JiSheng tp study the relationship between the mental health states of left-behind junior high school students and the coping style.On the one hand, searching the intervention styles to improve the mental health levels of left-behind junior high school students by learning their actual mental health states.On the other hand, researching the influence of coping style to the left-behind junior high school students,and building the theoretical models,in order to provide a new perspective to improve the mental health levels of left-behind junior high school students and basis for mental health education of family and school.Results: 1. In addition to force factors, the scores of left-behind junior high school students and non-left-behind junior high school students on mental health chart are both more than 2 points,and refer to force factors,the difference between their scores is large (t = - 4.362, P<0.01),left-behind junior high school students are significantly higher than non-left-behind junior high school students.2.Refer to the seven factors such as force and bigotedness,there is significant difference between boys and girls of left-behind junior high school students(t= -4.362 ~ 0.867 ,P<0.05),girls get higher scores than boys.3.Refer to the positive copin g styles which left-behind junior high school students taking:there is significantly negative relation of scores between problem solving and bigotedness,depression,study stress,maladjustment,emotional instability(r=-0.197~-0.107,P<0.05);also between actively reasonable explanation and bigotedness,study stress,maladjustment,emotional instability(r = -0.123 ~ - 0.092, P<0.05). And in negative coping styles: there is significantly positive relation of scores between patience and eight factors except for interpersonal relationship and maladjustment(r=0.10~0.180,P<0.05),significantly positive relation of scores between escape and nine factors except for obsession(r=0.140~0.216,P<0.05), significantly positive relation of scores between emotional outburst and nine factors except for depression (r=0.157~0.275,P<0.05),significantly positive relation of scores between fantasy denialand ten factors which on mental health chart(r=0.145~0.291,P<0.05)4.There is negative relation of scores between mother education level and hostility,interpersonal relationship,study stress(r=-0.111~-0.102)ompared with the non-left-behind junior high school students, left-behind junior high school students will show different emotional features. In the positive mood, left-behind junior high school students will have stronger feelings and significant difference (P<0.05)compared with control group. When the left-behind junior high school students are in the negative sentiment, there is siginificant differences between experiment group and control group on the scores of negative emotions (P<0.01) 6. In a positive mood,there were no significant difference (P>0.05) between left-behind junior high school students and non-left-behind junior high school students. For copeing styles both of them selected ,there is no siginificant differences. In negative mood, two groups start five factors and no significant difference on scores(P>0.05), but for the factor of emotional outburst,left-behind unattended junior high school students get significantly higher scores than non-left-behind junior highschool students (P<0.05)。 Conclusion: Left-behind junior high school students have mild mental problems.Coping styles and mother education level are probably the factors affecting mental health. Detection rate of girls' mental problems is higher than boys. On the situation of emotional starting,the emotion states of non-left-behind middle-school students remain relatively stability, but for left-behind middle-school students, the emotional states and experience intensity will take significant changes according to different emotional stimulated.When negative emotions start, left-behind junior school students prefer to choose negetive coping style.
