A Study On Mental Stress And Coping Style Among The Left-behind Junior Middle School Students

Purpose:(1) To explore the psychological pressure, coping style and the present situation of psychological health between left-behind junior high school students and non left-behind junior high school students;(2)To discuss their difference in psychological pressure, coping style and the present situation of psychological health;(3) To explore how junior high school students’psychological pressure and coping style influence their psychological health.Methods:(1) the research take methods of literature and questionnaire investigation;(2) select the Chinese middle school students’ mental health scale which is created by professor wang jisheng and the middle school students’stress source scale, the middle school students’ coping style scale which are created by Zheng quanquan and Chen shulin from Zhejiang university;(3) select654middle school students from gradel to3in two town junior high school of hunan province (age from12to16) as the research subjects, give out654questionnaires, and recycle603, after eliminating invalid questionnaires, the final effective questionnaires is571, and the effective recovery rate is87.31%;(4) adopt methods of T test for independent samples, analysis of variance for single factor, correlation analysis and regression analysis to deal with the data. Results:(1) the pressure of study is the topmost prasure of junior high school students, in general, left-behind junior middle school students’ psychological pressure is greater than the nonleft-behind junior middle school students, the specific performance is on themselves’body and mind presure and family environment pressure pressure, left-behind junior middle school students’is higher than the nonleft-behind junior middle school students significantly; left-behind girls is greater than left-behind boys(p<0.05); on family environment and social culture pressure, Studengts from the family environment that Parents party left out is significantly higher than those from on both parents left out family (p<0.05); the second grade left-behind junior high school students scored higher than the other two grade left-behind junior high school students in school pressre, teachers pressure, self body and mind pressure and on the total scores.(2) left-behind students more tend to take the coping style of solving problems, escaping, and fantasying or dening(p<0.05), nonleft-behind students more tend to take positive rationalization explaination to deal with problems (p<0.05); there is no difference between left-behind girls and boys, whether they are China One or not, partly parents out scored lower than both sides out, One of the parents both parents go out to stay junior high school students go out to the left behind junior high school students in the problem points to a strategic plan and specific way, and seeking social support and problem points to the coping strategies significantly different (p<0.05), while incoping strategies and emotional points to specific ways, no significant difference; overall, with the rise of grade, students more tend to adopt more mature, reasonable coping style.(3) left-behind students’ sores significantly higher than the nonleft-behind students in mental health situation (p0.01), specific performance in the paranoid, depression, anxiety and mood swings four factors; there is no diffrence in coping style whether boys or girls, whether they are the single or not, wehether partly parents go out or both sides out, and grade2and grade3score higher than grade1.(4) pressure can positively predicte psychological health situation, explain39.3%of the variation of variance, use pressure and the coping style of point to the mood to forecast mental health status, both can explain55%; Regression equation is Y=0.273+0.014X,+0.032X2.Conclusions:(1) the psychological pressure of left-behind junior high school students more than the nonleft-behind students’;(2) face with pressure, left-behind junior high school students more tend to adopt problem solving, fled, escaped, and fantasy/deny way to deal with;(3) left-behind junior high school students’mental health level is below the nonleft-behind junior middle school students’;(4) left-behind junior high school students’psychological pressure and point to emotional strategies can positively predict their mental health condition; Among them, the psychological pressure take direct action, and point to the emotional strategy plays partial intermediary role.
