The Influence Of Idol Worship And Mental Toughness On Mental Health Of Junior High School Students

The middle school period,especially the junior high school period,is a period of happening dramatic changes and development for every individual's body and mind.Idol worship at this stage plays a very important role in the construction of young people's self-value system.What kind of idolatry people adopt and what level of psychological resilience they have will have a very important impact on the choice of coping styles and the level of mental health.Therefore,it is of great significance to explore the idolatry,psychological resilience,coping styles and their effects on the mental health of junior high school students.On the basis of previous literature research,this study investigated more than 600 junior high school students in Henan Province by means of questionnaires.The main results of the study are as follows:(1)From the perspective of guardian category,the differences of idolatry among junior high school students are statistically significant,while the differences in other demographic variables are not.The guardian category is junior high school students of both parents,and the idolatry is more rational.(2)There is no statistical significance in the gender difference of junior high school students' psychological resilience,but there is statistical significance in the grade difference.In addition,there is also statistical significance in the differences between the guardian category variables and the class cadre variables in the perspective of psychological resilience.(3)In the two dimensions of gender and grade,there is no significant difference in junior high school students' coping styles.(4)There is no significant difference in the overall mental health of junior high school students in terms of gender and grade.However,there are significant gender differences in paranoid factors,psychological imbalance factors and interpersonal tension sensitive factors.The difference of maladjustment factor,psychological imbalance factor and learning motivation factor in different grades is statistically significant.(5)The more rational the idolatry of junior high school students,the more inclined they are to adopt problem-solving coping styles,and the higher their mental health level will be;The higher the psychological resilience level of junior high school students,the more inclined they are to adopt problem-solving coping styles,and the higher their mental health level will be.(6)Coping styles exist as intermediary variables.Idol worship and psychological resilience can directly affect mental health.It can also indirectly affect mental health through the intermediary effect of coping styles,both of which have more direct effects on mental health than indirect effects.
