| GeFei used to stay among the forward position of contemporary avant-garde novels filling with experimental enthusiasm art wisdom, together with YuHua and SuTong, forming his own unique aesthetic standards in the trend of Chinese avant-garde literature in 1980s.Basing on the close reading of all GeFei's novels, this thesis takes the extremely mystery tendency as investigation target. When giving a brief explanation to the concept of "mystery" and "mysterious" writing in literature, it tries to analyze the factors of "mystery" and the multi-level aesthetic pursuit of "mysterious" writing in GeFei's novels. And then, it reveals the philosophical thinking and aesthetic value of GeFei's "mysterious writing", especially the profound contemplation about the aspects of absurdity of human existence, the limitation of human subject, defamiliarization of narration and so on.Meanwhile, this thesis also probes into the philosophical thinking of the writer subject hidden in this aesthetic pursuit, especially the observation about the human survival predicament.The "mysterious" writing also displays a process of gradual change and maturity in the whole creation of GeFei, permeating with some poetic aesthetic interest and showing the unremitting pursuit towards art of a good writer.
