| Based on the previous studies of others about the "Ba"-sentences and "Gei"-sentences, this thesis uses the "three planes" theory of syntax, semantic and pragmatic to describe and explain the phenomenon of the sentences of the co-appearance of the preposition "Ba" and "Gei" and tries to fill up the blank of the study on it. The main content of this thesis include five parts as follows:Part One:The author firstly defines what the sentences of the co-appearance of the preposition "Ba" and "Gei" are. Then, according to the syntactic characteristics of these sentences, the author divides them into three types:I. "Ba"+N+""Gei"+N+V; II."Gei"+N+"Ba"+N+V; III. "Ba"+N+"Gei"+V.Part Two:According to the principles of combinations of form and meaning, and the combinations of description and explanation, the author compares prepositional objects of the three types of sentences and analyzes the syntactic and semantic relations between the prepositional object of "Ba" and the prepositional object of "Gei".Part Three:The author compares and analyzes the types of verbs using in the three types of sentences and investigates the similarities and differences of verbs using in them.Part Four:According to the "three planes" theory, the author analyzes and explains the factors that restrict the sequences of "Ba"-phrases and "Gei"-phrases in type I and type II.Part Five:From the perspectives of syntax, semantic and pragmatic, the author analyzes the similarities and differences between type I and type III. Based on the relations of the two types, and the study of predecessors, the author concludes that type III derives from type I by omitting of objects behind "Gei". This change results from the continuing grammaticalization of "Gei", and the Language Economic Principle. |
