| Dating from 1980s, substantial research results about mental health education have been accumulated in China. However, in practice, there are some problems to improvement, such as the single content and method and a shortage of professional teachers. And it would be marginalized. What matter now is that how to make the best use of psychological researches into the educational practices. The study mainly intended to explore a new practical approach on mental health education.The intelligent psychological instruments, which are latest production from Scientific & Teaching Instruments Faction of ECNU, were used as research tools. The subjects are first-year students from different schools, including middle school, high school and technical school. According to the school's category, this study consists of three parts. And only one machine is emphasized in each part. The both hands' coordination ability instrument is selective analyzed in middle school; the mirror-painting instrument, high school; the fingers' flexibility instrument, technical school. No involvement of comparative studies among three school types.The results indicate that:From the immediate and automatic data, the students can obtain a more objective understanding and evaluation about their mental state. By introducing the function and usage of instruments and analyzing the result data, teachers'professional ability can be improved. Considering for school counseling, the results can provide basis for individualized instruction. Some instruments may be helpful for related abilities training. In addition, they can be used as the teaching aids in the class of scientific psychology.To sum up, the intelligent psychological instruments have high application value in mental health education.
