Eileen Chang's world is an imaginary world. She used the moon, an old house, the sun, a violin, water, clothing, birds, home and other images as features to set up a ghost Kingdom on the ruins of the ancient China, which showed a "sad but not wounded" desolate beauty. Some of these literary images have been taken notice by the director, and strongly performed in the movie. The five film texts of Eileen Chang's movie adaptations as the objects of study, we focused on the image expression of three themes, mirror, cage birds and home in the films. The first chapter analyzed the mirror and its metaphorical theme in the films. We illustrated the deep inner world of Eileen's fictional figures and the desolate, fragile aesthetic image presented by the "mirror" from the mirror of the "original like" gender "mirror", a virtual stage and real life. The second chapter analyzed the composition and performance of the "Caged Bird" image in the film. Based on the symbolic interpretation of the five movie adaptation's narrative structure by Greimas' "meaning rectangle", we proved the fate theme of the "Caged Bird" image with the assistance of film directing skill. The third chapter analyzed the "home" image in the films. Based on the baby modeling and fetishes of the figure's sexual instinct, we interpreted the essence of "home" image as women looking for alternatives of patriarchy in the "no parent" world and the desire for the return of patriarchal order. The film adaptation of Eileen Chang has a certain degree of difficulty, the image is the key to the success of Eileen's film adaptation, but also the soul of the film, as it can really go beyond the limit of concrete and allow audience to interpret for themselves. It is hope that the paper could be a reference for Eileen Chang's future movie adaptations.
